Photo wallpapers (wall murals) — bold focal points with quick results

Photo wallpapers are large-format image panels that form a seamless scene across the wall. They expand the perceived space and refresh interiors fast. Panels are typically 50–106 cm wide, numbered for straightforward installation.

Materials & types

• Non-woven — dimensionally stable; often installed as paste-the-wall.
• Vinyl on non-woven — durable, textured (matte, light emboss), often washable.
• Paper — budget matte look; usually paste-the-paper.
• Self-adhesive — no glue needed; requires very smooth, clean substrate.

Choosing the design

• Living room: landscapes, cityscapes, abstract art.
• Bedroom: calm textures, gradients, botanicals.
• Kids’ rooms: maps, illustrations; prefer low-emission materials.
• Home office: geometry, architecture, monochrome.

Measuring & coverage

• Measure wall width and height; add 3–5 cm trimming allowance all around.
• Check panel count/width and final scene size on the product page.
• For custom sizing, aim for ~100–150 dpi at final scale for good detail.

Adhesive & installation

Different systems apply: paste-the-wall, paste-the-paper, or self-adhesive. Always follow the label symbols and the manufacturer’s instructions, and match the adhesive to the material.

1. Substrate: dry, sound, even, primed; mark a true vertical for the first drop.
2. Apply adhesive if required and smooth the panel from center outward, removing air.
3. Butt-join panels (unless stated otherwise), matching the image; roll seams with a rubber roller.
4. Trim excess with a sharp knife; keep temperature stable and avoid drafts.

See symbols for washability and lightfastness. Vinyl-on-non-woven typically tolerates gentle damp cleaning.
